Latest Report from County Councillor

County Councillor Report March 2026:

Council tax. I voted against a 9% council tax increase but sadly it went through as Reform voted for it and the Liberal Democrats left the meeting to not vote. To be clear 9% council tax increase would not have been passed if the Liberal Democrats had voted.

A reminder that the local government reorganisation consultation closes on 26th March. We want as many responses as possible to urge the government to select a north and south unitary, which in this forced situation is by far the best option for all of us in Wychavon.

In relation to Badsey Sports and community centre, from a WCC position I can’t assist but I will certainly work with Mark to see if we can earmark something from a WDC perspective in the form of a legacy/grant to secure this vital facility in the village.

I am following up on the points raised by Aldington residents’ association and will update further.
