28.05.2024 Planning News

Residents will be interested to learn that planning application W/23/02227/OUT for 35 houses off Bretforton Road has been REFUSED by Wychavon District Council.  The full documentation can be found by clicking the button below. THREE main reasons were given for the refusal:

1.  The application site lies entirely outside of a defined settlement boundary as identified under Policy SWDP 2 of the South Worcestershire Development Plan 2016. The site is therefore defined as open countryside where development shall be strictly controlled.

2.  Forecast intakes for Badsey First School indicate that there are insufficient places for primary age children, which is expected to continue into the foreseeable future.

3.  In the absence of a Section 106 legal agreement, no secure arrangements are in place to secure the arrangements for a financial contribution towards: affordable housing provision; public open space; formal sports and leisure; primary care; transport and infrastructure; education (early years, high school and sixth form).

As such, the proposed development does not meet the objectives of sustainable development and cannot be delivered with acceptable impacts on the community and the environment.

2.9.2023 Planning News

Planning Application W/23/00936/OUT

A very large number of our residents (there are 240 on the Wychavon site) commented on the Planning Application for the development of up to 90 houses south of the Bretforton Road with access at the junction of Bretforton Road and Birmingham Road close to the Round of Gras.  Most of these comments objected to the proposal, as did the Parish Council. We felt it right to draw residents’ attention to a new document under “Application Documents” dated 01/09/2023. This is a Transport Assessment Addendum which seeks to disagree with Worcestershire Highways recommendation for REFUSAL of the application.  It can be found under the DOCUMENTS tab APPLICATION DOCUMENTS together with a covering letter at:
